Spring Valley, CA – A roadway improvement project to increase pedestrian safety. Cast in place retaining walls were constructed at existing side slopes to widen the street for sidewalk and curb ramp construction. In addition to the 2700 square foot cast in place retaining wall a 4250 square foot soil nail and shotcrete retaining wall was constructed in order to cut back a slope on the opposite side of the street.
This project was for a custom home site in La Jolla, CA and included (7,200 cubic yards of grading, and 2,500 cubic yards of imported soil). Other work involved erecting temporary and permanent shoring walls, constructing a caisson pile foundation for masonry retaining walls, and some site drainage and demolition work.
This was a landslide repair to a slope that undermined four houses and a swimming pool in Oceanside, CA. The site work included the installation of tie backs (56 anchors with 300 kip loads) and reinforced shotcrete (225 Cubic yards). The project also included slope re-grading (14,000 cubic yards), and the reconstruction of an existing retaining wall.
